SALON – Society for the Arts of the Long Nineteenth Century is a platform for dialogue around art and art history from c. 1789–1914. Bringing together researchers, museum professionals and enthusiasts, SALON fosters exchange across disciplines, generations and borders.

We developed a visual identity that reinterprets the historical salon as a contemporary, open forum, balancing academic depth with an inviting, forward-looking aesthetic.

The identity reflects SALON’s dual perspective: rooted in the nineteenth century, yet looking forward. The eye symbolises observation, exchange and critical reflection.

Refined typography and a colour palette inspired by historical prints, combined with fresh tones, create a visual language that feels both timeless and contemporary.

A flexible editorial system that combines scholarly content with accessible storytelling, designed to guide readers through research, events and community updates.

A bold and recognisable visual language that translates nineteenth-century art into a contemporary feed, inviting dialogue and discovery.
